Atlanta Decorator Trains Under Tobi Fairley

I had waaaaaaaayyyyyy too much fun last week!  Thirty-five campers and I trained under Tobi Fairley for three days at her design firm in Little Rock.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with Tobi, she is one of the top designers in the country who has her work plastered all over Traditional Home magazine on a regular basis.  Here are a few snapshots of her designs:

You can view more of her work here.  As you can see, Tobi is rather talented; but, enough about her and back to Design Camp.  Every day two limos would appear in front of The Peabody Hotel to escort us to camp.  Check this out:

Yes, we felt like rock stars!  What fun!  There were actually two limos — pink and black, but I preferred the fuschia hues and made a point of getting down early each morning to secure my seat.

Each day Tobi shared her wealth of interior design knowledge with us through formal classroom instruction with PowerPoint illustrations, she helped us with our personal design projects when we got stuck, and hung out with us during meals and coffee breaks.

If that weren’t enough, we went to an “after hours” party on Wednesday evening at Cobblestone & Vines, a local high-end furniture and accessories shop, then were treated to another party hosted by Tobi and her wonderful staff on Thursday evening.  What a week!  (Her poor staff did nothing but feed us and take care of our every need for three days.  Thank you, ladies and Landon!)

I want to thank Tobi and her staff for giving us a week to remember in Little Rock!  As an Atlanta decorator who still has much to learn, it was a real treat to study under Tobi Fairley.  I greatly look forward to implementing her design tips and secrets with my Atlanta clients.
